Inspect the entire machine and piping for damage, including loose or missing components, and repair as necessary.
Replace the spark plugs with Champion L9T (LD) spark plugs, setting the gap to 0.6–0.7 mm.
Fuel tank filter: Use a wire hook to remove the fuel tank filter, then detach the filter element and clean it with gasoline. Before reinstalling the filter, inspect the condition of the fuel lines. If any damage or deterioration is detected, discontinue use until the system has been inspected by a trained service technician.
Storage
Clean, thoroughly clean the exterior of the machine.
Fuel: Drain the fuel tank and purge the carburetor and fuel lines by running the engine until it stalls due to lack of fuel.
After lubrication, remove the spark plug and pour approximately 1/4 ounce of engine oil into the cylinder through the spark plug hole. Before reinstalling the spark plug, pull the recoil starter 2 to 3 times to ensure the oil is evenly distributed along the cylinder walls.
